You already use AI for legal work. It's time to understand how it thinks

You already use AI in your legal work. You draft with it, ask it questions, lean on it when time runs short. This class is about what comes next, the part most training skips: how the model actually thinks, where it falls apart, and how to push it past the easy answers.

Over sixty minutes you work through real in-house tasks, not toy examples. You see how AI agents reason through multi-step work and chain a single instruction into a finished draft. You learn wizard prompting, where the model interviews you before it writes. You learn why a long conversation drifts and how to hold it steady.

You come out reading AI output with a sharper, more critical eye, trusting it where it earns trust and catching it where it does not. A Solutions Attorney guides every exercise live.

Here's what you'll learn in the class

Agentic AI
Learn how AI agents reason through multi-step tasks, select tools, and chain workflows to complete complex work from a single instruction.
Wizard Prompting
Let AI interview you before it drafts, using structured prompting to turn a short brief into a complete, high-quality agreement from minimal input.
How LLMs Work
Understand pattern recognition, probabilistic prediction, and the mechanics behind LLMs to write better prompts and interpret results more confidently.
Hallucinations and context rot
Learn why accuracy degrades over long conversations and apply advanced techniques to maintain context, improve reliability, and reduce hallucinations.

Common questions

Can law firm lawyers take these classes, or are they only for in-house counsel?
While the courses are designed with in-house counsel in mind, law firm lawyers benefit from them too. Past participants include associates, partners, and paralegals across practice areas like patent law, litigation, and trademark prosecution.
Are the classes eligible for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit?
Yes, select courses are eligible for CLE credit in California, ranging from 1 to 1.25 hours per session. Provider will apply for CA MCLE Accreditation for certain instructors. Our CLE accredited course offerings are expanding. Please go to gc.ai/learn-ai for the latest on which courses are eligible.
What tools or software will I be using during the classes?
The classes are taught using GC AI, a legal-specific AI platform. Participants receive a free trial of GC AI (14 days for individual courses, 30 days for the Custom class). GC AI also offers a Word add-in, giving participants hands-on experience with AI-powered document editing directly in Microsoft Word. While the course focuses on GC AI, the skills learned can be applied to general-purpose AI tools.
How can these classes benefit my legal work and productivity?
These classes teach you practical, immediately useful skills in AI for legal work. You'll learn how to get high-quality outputs from AI tools across drafting, reviewing, editing, and research. The skills compound as you build them into your daily workflows.
I'm new to AI - is that OK?
Yes. The courses assume you're a legal professional with basic tech skills (e.g., using a web browser) but do not assume any prior AI experience. If you can write an email, you can use AI for your legal work.

Very thorough education in provider-agnostic LLM best practices, and not a pushy sales pitch session, which I appreciate (even though I've been an ardent GC AI customer for a year+ now!)
